Höksberget
- Nature reserve
- County: Jämtlands län
Actions
Description
On this steep south-western slope you will find mostly 120 to 150-year-old spruce trees with a small mixture of deciduous trees such as birch and aspen. Many rare species of wood fungi, lichens and insects thrive on the old trees and the dead lying trees. The sunlit tree trunks provide good living conditions for insects and birds. The tree trunks become warm when the sun shines on them and insect activity increases. If there are many insects, the birds go there to look for food.
