Description

Utstenarna is a typical island in the Gulf of Bothnia. 500 years ago, the island was just a small rocky shoal, but has now risen out of the sea as the land has risen. The island is undeveloped, which is particularly valuable for outdoor recreation in a part of the coastal area that is otherwise densely populated with holiday homes.

In the 1960s, the island was used as pasture for sheep and horses. Small-scale forestry has also been carried out here in the past.
