When: Wednesday, August 26, 1:00–3:30 p.m.
Where: Hammarskog Nature Reserve, **meet at
the parking lot by the manor house.
Bus stop: Hammarskog crossroads, 800 m away.
Join us for an atmospheric tour
of Hammarskog featuring pastoral ballads, calls, and kulning. Kulning combines calls and
lures and was originally used at the mountain pastures to communicate with
the animals. Today, kulning is primarily used in folk music.
Louise Fladvad, who leads the tour, is
a folk musician and
professional storyteller with a deep passion for the forest’s tales and music. She
will share stories of the mountain pastures, kulning, and flute music out in the
nature of Hammarskog.
For those who wish, there will be an opportunity
to try out the
special calls traditionally used to gather
cows, sheep, and goats. We’ll wrap up with a coffee break, where the Upplandsstiftelsen will serve
coffee, tea, and a small cookie.
Accessibility: Access to accessible parking and
a dry toilet, a rest area, and a level surface on a wooden walkway.
Registration: karin.brolin@upplandsstiftelsen.se, no later than
