Reserve on the border between Skåne and Blekinge

Djupadal-Skinsagylet is a nature reserve on the border between Skåne and Blekinge. The Skåne part of the reserve is called Djupadal and the Blekinge part Skinsagylet. The reserve is located on a southeastern slope on Ryssberget, which is now covered mainly by beech forest. Ryssberget is an ancient mountain ridge where there are clear traces of the inland ice. In parts of the nature reserve, the terrain is large boulders with moss-covered boulders.

Wild natural forest on the slope of Ryssberget

The slopes with deciduous forest have partly the character of natural forest, mainly in the steep parts where it has been left untouched long enough. In the parts of the area that have not been felled for a long time, some fine natural forest qualities have developed. There is plenty of dead wood here in the form of lying trunks, flames and standing stumps. This provides good conditions for wood-boring insects. The boulder-rich terrain, the untouched broadleaf trees on the slopes and the rocky outcrops together give a wild impression.

Outdoor life

On the Blekinge side of the county border, in Skinsagylets nature reserve Link to another website., there is parking and a 2.5 kilometer long hiking trail that leads to a viewpoint with miles of views. Remember to take your trash home.

In English

Welcome to Djupadal and Skinsagylet Nature Reserves

They are located on the border between Skåne and Blekinge Counties. The reserves are located on the northern side of the majestic Mount Ryssberget, characterized by extensive beech forest. A 2.5 kilometers long walking trail, through beautiful woodland to an outlook with mile-wide views, starts from the parking area. The beech forest is a valuable habitat for many plants and animals. Rare fungi and beetles thrive in the old tree trunks. Bird species that live in the forest include hawfinch, black woodpecker and green woodpecker.
