Description
Here you will find very old pine forests. When the oldest pine trees in this nature reserve were small seedlings, the botanist Carl Linnaeus had not yet given the pine its Latin name, Pinus sylvestris. The old forest attracts special bird species. In addition to the tufted titmouse and the tree creeper, both the nesting swallowtail and the swift have been observed. Of course, there are both great spotted woodpeckers and three-toed woodpeckers that have many dead trees to drum on.

Directions
From Strömsund follow the E45 north. Turn right towards Backe. After about 14 km turn right towards Trångåsen. Drive about 8 km. When you cross Malmån turn right and then first left. After 600 m you are inside the nature reserve.
