Gotlands Försvarsmuseum

The museum consists of two parts (Army and Air & Navy). The Army part 300 m south of Tingstäde church and the Air & Navy part about 2 km south of Tingstäde.

Some of our exhibitions: Defence history from ancient times - 2000. A number of tanks and combat vehicles that were part of the war organization from World War II onwards. Some can be driven. Artillery pieces from the 1860s onwards and anti-aircraft systems from the 1930s onwards. The Soviet aircraft (AN2) that made an emergency landing off Östergarn in 1987. All coastal artillery pieces that have been in service on Gotland since the end of the 19th century. Sea mines, both remote and direct detonated. Fighter planes (Draken and Viggen) and helicopters. Interior from a naval combat hospital, etc. A total of 5000 sqm exhibition space! Restaurant serving coffee and lunch, shop with military range and playground.
