Description
The soil in Månsbergets nature reserve is full of nutrients and water. It is covered with lush vegetation, including several species of ferns. Clusters of guckuscon's large yellow flowers light up the forest around midsummer.
Grevenvägen is an old dug road that leads up to the remains of the old farm Månsberget, which was bought by the primary school teacher Anders Forsgren in 1860. From there the path continues to the timber mill. A place where the timber used to be rolled down from the mountain. Here awaits a nice view of Lake Ormsjön and a shelter to have a coffee.
In the open old mountain pastures and the timber vault, moonwort, buttercups, midsummer flowers and many other plants thrive.
In the upper part of the area there are old pasture sites from the 1800s and in the south a trapping pit system from the time when hunters and gatherers inhabited the land.
