Description

Flyeboda nature reserve consists of a mosaic of mainly hay meadows, pastures and deciduous forest. The reserve also contains small swamp forests, as well as a couple of small lakes where long-legged frogs spawn in the spring.

Meadows, pastures and deciduous forest

The eastern part of the nature reserve is a mixture of meadows, pastures, deciduous forest and deciduous swamp forest. The forest has arisen through the overgrowth of pasture land that was previously managed. There are plans to restore most of the old pasture land. The western part of the reserve consists mainly of beech-dominated broadleaf forest. Much of the forest is young, and planted after planned spruce stands were felled.

Plant and animal life

The meadows and pastures in the east have a rich early summer flora with species such as St. Peter's keys, Adam and Eve and hay rattle, and with a little luck you can see flowering vetch in the broadleaf forest. The forest also contains several unusual species of fungi. Bird life is also rich.
