Kuggenäs

Kuggenäs on the shores of Lake Hjälmaren is home to oaks, lime trees, hazel and other deciduous trees. Here you can hike on trails or walk around on your own among the trees. There is a path from the parking lot that takes you to a loop that goes around the nature reserve. There are two picnic areas in the nature reserve, plus many other nice places where you can stop, sit down, have a snack and look out over the water.

In spring, many pink anemones bloom here among the usual blue ones. In the riparian forest you may hear woodpeckers foraging in the old trees or see traces of beavers in the form of fallen trees. The night violet is common and spreads its fragrance over the area on balmy summer evenings. Remember to show consideration for residents and the fishermen who have their boathouses in the area.

**Note: The app will give you the wrong directions if you are driving. You will end up at a road barrier. In Lunger, drive east towards Skogstorp 3. Turn right at the sign Björkudden and Nature Reserve. Continue straight ahead on a smaller road in Björkudden at the sign Nature Reserve. Drive about 400 meters to a parking lot.
