Description
Such large, old and fairly untouched forest areas are not common in our county. Here you can walk in a 110 ha coniferous natural forest with very old trees, 100-200 years old in some places, large amounts of dead tree trunks and many unusual flowers, mosses, fungi and insects. Here and there the ground is really wet so don't forget your boots.
There are two loops to choose from. The longer one is about 4 km and the shorter one about 2.5.
NOTE! The area is heavily infested with spruce bark beetle, which has caused many trees to die and fall in the area and that more will fall. This has made the trail difficult to access at times. The County Administrative Board has therefore decided not to carry out any maintenance of the trail for the time being and it is used at your own risk.
Current information about the reserve can be found on the County Administrative Board's website.
