Fäladsrundan Trail

You walk through the
hilly old beech woodlands and pastures of Prästaskogen. The Trail also takes
you through Skrylle Nature Reserve, with its history as an old pasture planted
with spruce at the end of the 1800s. The spruce was replaced 100 years later by
the broadleaved woodlands you see here today. In the Dalby Fälad Nr 5 Nature Reserve,
you get a sense of what much of the landscape looked like here a few hundred
years ago - with vast pastures, rich in herbs and insects, with scattered
shrubs and trees. You also follow the disused railway embankment where steam
locomotives chugged along 100 years ago, pulling carriages filled with townsfolk
who wanted to enjoy the lovely greenery of the beech woodland or to take a turn
on the Boklunden dance floor.
