Actions
Description
Uggelholmarna consists of two islands, Stora and Lilla Uggelholmen, and is located in the middle of the myriad of islands and skerries in St. Anna's central archipelago. The islands are home to both coniferous and deciduous forests with centuries-old pines and lime trees. In the past, deciduous meadows were an important resource for farmers where they could collect fodder for their animals. In the former deciduous meadows on Stora Uggelholmen you can see the traces of their work. There are several trees here that bear traces of previous pollarding. In addition, the flora is very rich in these areas, with the presence of, among other things, cornflower, lily of the valley and Adam and Eve. Deciduous trees, dead wood, shaded boulders and old pollarded trees mean that there is generally a valuable moss and lichen flora and a rich insect life. You can reach the reserve by boat or kayak.
