Description
Perkil's cauldron, one of Sweden's largest cauldrons, is nestled in the coniferous forest north of Tjällmo near Lake Annsjön. The impressive cauldron, which today is filled with water, gives the impression of being bottomless, like the entrance to the earth's interior. The cauldron was formed at the end of the Ice Age by a rotating rock that was drilled into the bedrock by the rushing water. The cavern is 12 meters deep and at its widest 4 meters.
There are information signs about the Perkil kettle at the nearby parking lot.
