Description
Along the Regna-Tjuttorp stage, the Östgötal Trail passes the remains of the Marks silver mine. A silver vein was found here in the latter half of the 1600s. The "gold", or in this case the silver, was turned into sand when the mine had to be closed down after a few years due to limited extraction. The history of mining still lives on in the form of several mine holes located close to the Östgötal Trail.
