Description
Ruin of a medieval castle known since 1344 when it was held by the knight Ulf Abjörnsson Sparre. It is likely that there was a settlement much earlier. The sea then entered the castle in a narrow bay.
During the 15th century, the castle was owned by Karl Knutsson Bonde, elected King of Sweden three times.
The castle was plundered and burned down by Dacke's people in 1542.
