Description
Vindsjöbergen
is a hilly and scenic natural area located about five kilometres north of
Åkersberga, easily reached via marked trails from the Domarudden outdoor
recreation area. Within the reserve, you can follow Domarudden’s fitness trails
or explore the area freely.
The area features old pine forest on rocky heights, spruce forest in lower areas, and the small lake Vindsjön in the north.
The forest
has high conservation value and is home to many protected species, especially
fungi associated with old-growth forest and dead wood. Keep an eye out for pine bracket, Junghuhnia collabens, Skeletocutis stellae, Phellopilus
nigrolimitatus and rode bracket.
In addition, you may find the fragrant
hydnellum mushroom, lichens such as Megallaria grossa, blonde horsehair lichen
and Chaenotheca gracillima. Also, the rare Anastrophyllum
hellerianum moss and the creeping lady’s tresses orchid have been found in
this nature reserve.

Directions
The reserve is most easily accessed from the car park at Domarudden Outdoor Recreation Area. Follow the marked hiking trail from the car park for about 1 km to reach the eastern part of the reserve.
Regulations
To protect the nature reserve, there are rules that must be followed. Within the reserve, it is prohibited to:
- dig, chip, drill, or otherwise damage rock, soil, or stone
- fell, damage, or remove living or dead trees or shrubs
- damage vegetation by digging up plants
