Tillgänglighetsslingan - Ekskogen till Kårsta

Getting out for a walk, close to nature, can sometimes be difficult. Especially if it is to be accessible from an accessibility point of view. Here is a suggestion for a walk between Kårsta and Ekskogen;

At Eksgogen station, turn left and follow Ekskogenvägen up a fairly steep hill through an area surrounded by a patchwork of forests and cultivated farmland. Through Ekskogen runs Lillån, which is now a very small river that runs through the Kårsta/Ekskogen area in Vallentuna municipality. When Vikings lived in the area, they had great use for Lillån, which originates in Lake Sparren in Kårsta. Later when farmers started to cultivate the land in the area, raiders started to travel along the river, but they were always stopped by the strong farmers of the Kårsta/Ekskogen area, a clear proof of this is Rysskullen which is located a few kilometers west of Kårsta station.

After about 500 meters you come to a crossing, where you turn right and continue north. A tip is to make a stop at Kårsta church which is from the Middle Ages. Continue Eksogsvägen another two kilometers to get to the final destination, Kårsta station.
