Description

The western shore of the island is high and steep, creating a dramatic landscape. The eastern shore is low and largely covered with boulders, except in a few places where smooth rock outcrops extend into the water.

The vegetation consists partly of pine forest growing on exposed bedrock, and partly of more productive coniferous forest in the interior of the island. At the center of the island there is a wetland area with alder and birch. The forest has a largely untouched, natural character.

There are no outdoor recreation facilities in the reserve other than information signs.
