Sickla strand

The Sickla Strand residential area was built in the late 1940s for Atlas Copco employees. The architects were the brothers Tore and Erik Ahlsén. They have become known, among other things, for Årsta center, which was built at the same time. Both here in Sickla and in Årsta, the brightly colored patterns of the facades are a characteristic feature. The apartment buildings in Sickla strand are located on a slope down towards the lake. The area is clearly divided between housing, roads and green spaces. In the beach park, leisure and sports associations for Atlas employees have long organized activities. Many employees came from Italy - so a boccia court has been included.
