Description
Seal sanctuary. Access prohibited from February 1 - August 15.
In the spring and early summer, seals shed their fur. During this sensitive time, they remain out of the water in order to keep warm, basking on sun-warmed rocks along the islets and skerries. The seals are particularly vulnerable to disturbance at this time. For this reason, it is forbidden to enter the seal sanctuary from February 1 - August 15.
You are welcome to come see and enjoy the seals, but from a distance!
