Description

A pier with ferries to the island. From Ankarudden on the mainland, ferries operate between three harbours on Öja-Landsort—Västerhamn, Österhamn and Norrhamn—and they can stop at any one of these harbours depending on weather conditions. An information board at the crossing in the village tells you when the next ferry departs, and from which harbour.

Directions

There are regular ferries between Öja–Landsort and mainland Ankarudden. Note that the ferries arrive at different harbours depending on the weather. There's an information board by the crossing in the village that shows what time the next ferry departs and from which harbour. For current timetables, search for "29" in the search bar in Waxholmsbolaget's timetables (in Swedish) or use the SL travel planner and search for "Landsort".

By public transit: Take the train or bus to Ankarudden, where the ferries depart for Landsort. For current information on public transit, see sl.se

By car: Park you car at Ankarudden and take the ferry to Landsort.

From Stockholm: Take Route 73 towards Nynäshamn. Turn at Älgviken towards Nynäshamn Norra, Herrhamra, Torö. After 200 m, make a right towards Herrhamra, Torö. Follow the road 15 km to Ankarudden.

From Södertälje: Take Route 225 towards Nynäshamn. Shortly after passing Sorunda, continue straight towards Stora Vika. After 3 km, keep left at the fork towards Stora Vika, Nynäshamn. After 9 km, make a right turn towards Herrhamra. Follow the road to Ankarudden.

Reserve extra time for the bridge at Tottnäs. The bridge may open once an hour from June 1—August 31, 8:00 – 20:00. There's a fee to park at Ankarudden.

Regulations

In order to protect the Öja-Landsort nature reserve, please respect the following rules.

Within the reserve, it is forbidden to:

  1. destroy or damage permanent natural structures,
  2. pick flowers of the lesser butterfly-orchid,
  3. break branches or fell trees,
  4. bring dogs that are not on a leash,
  5. deliberately disturb wildlife,
  6. camp or make a fire outside of designated sites.
