Actions

Currently

The nature reserve has areas affected by spruce bark beetle. Many spruce trees have died and may fall over time, so please be cautious and avoid visiting during windy weather.

The beetles only attack living trees and do not remain in dead wood. Dead trees are left in place to support biodiversity, as they provide important habitats for wildlife, mosses, and lichens.

Description

Within the Norrskogen nature reserve, you'll find a mix of swamps and spruce forest. The abundance of old trees, limestone-rich soils and high humidity provides suitable habitats for a long list of rare and endangered fungi, moss and lichen species.

The reserve is located between two lakes, Erken and Gisen. There are no visitor facilities at the reserve.
