Trail details

  • Length 3.2 km

Description

The loop around Långviksskär offers a taste of many of the national park’s different
habitats. It takes you across heather-covered rocky outcrops (keep an eye out
for butterflies in summer!) and old hay meadows, and pass through wet woodland
with hollow trees—who might be living in there?

Along the island's western coast, you’ll find smooth rocks perfect for swimming, And benches where you can rest your legs. Look out over the sea: in the past,
people used to row to church on Nämdö on Sundays. Would you have made the
journey? Also in bad weather?

Near the village, you’ll catch a glimpse of how people lived here well into the 20th
century, relying on fishing, hunting, and small-scale farming. Several houses
are still privately owned, so please be respectful.

The main loop is 2.8 km. Including the return detour to the information point and rest cabin in the south, it totals 3.4 km.

You can also take a short detour to the viewpoint at Norrudden—just 120 metres one way. The view is fantastic!
