Description

On the
southern part of Långviksskär and fully surrounded by Nämdöskärgården National Park, you’ll find Långviksskär Nature Reserve. This part of the island is where you can most clearly see how the landscape has been shaped by the people who lived here. For example, there are hay meadows that are still maintained, fishing
huts and other culturally and historically important environments.

In a former
military barrack, you can take shelter from the weather. Today, it houses
photographs from Långviksskär in times past.

Several of
the houses are privately owned. Please be respectful.

NB. There is no drinking water on the island. Nor is there any food and drink to buy - make sure to bring your own.
