Description

These fascinating glacial potholes were created about 10,000 years ago, as the inland ice receded from the land. The largest pothole is 6 m wide! There are more potholes located outside of the reserve. These glacial potholes were created by strong eddies and currents below the ice, which caused rocks and gravel to erode holes into the bedrock.

The reserve was founded in 1962 in order to protect the glacial potholes.
