Description
Glömsta old farm plot - Pasture that belongs to Glömsta manor and is private land. In the 16th century, Glömsta was a tax farm and paid taxes to the crown and tithes to the church. In the 17th century, a French dragoon officer in Swedish service was given a tax estate in Glömsta. In the middle of that century, the manor house was moved to the west side of the Göta highway, but the other buildings remained here on the east side, such as the barn. Glömsta soon became a manor and would then have a stately building (Glömsta manor). At the end of the 18th century, the manor had 4 horses, 4 oxen, 1 bull, 1 goat, 10 ewes, 14 lambs, 14 goats and 8 pigs.
Today, only a former state barn (the farm's milkmaid, gardener and others lived here), shed and cellar remain. In recent times, the stately home has been used as a leisure center and party room and is called Glömstagården. In recent years, the house could not be used due to house fungus. The pasture, however, still has its natural plants that have benefited from mowing and grazing since the Bronze Age, such as darnel grass, briar, maidenhair, blackcap, spring savory, sheep's fescue, etc.
