Description
"Farsta" means the settlement by the waterway. During the Viking Age, Farsta farm was located here on a slight rise near the water. The Fasta burial ground contains graves of 30-40 people. In the middle of the hill you can see a trident-type grave, the most status-filled grave here, designed as a triangle with ten-meter-long sides and meter-high cornerstones. The other graves are mainly mounds and stone circles.
The natural values in the area are linked to both the species-rich heathy ground flora with elements of flowering shrubs, and to the many deciduous trees of oak, ash, elm and maple as well as a number of larger pines. There is also a giant tree in the area, a large old oak that is over 1 meter in diameter and probably between 200-300 years old with hollows and mulm.
The area is one of four central key biotopes managed by the municipality.
As it is not permitted to make ground interventions in a burial ground, there are no prepared paths.
