To protect the Fårholmen nature reserve, there are rules you must follow.

In the reserve it is forbidden to

1. destroy or damage any fixed natural object or surface formation
2. dig up flowers or damage ground vegetation (grass, moss or lichen cover)
3. deliberately disturbing wildlife (e.g. by climbing nest trees, removing bird eggs or taking close-up photographs of a bird's nest, lair, burrow or similar)
4. bring a dog that is not on a leash
5. camping for more than one day without the landowner's permission
6. make a fire
7. use a radio, gramophone, tape recorder or similar in a way that disturbs others
8. land on Furholmen or stay permanently on the island in a way that disturbs bird life during the period April 1 - July 15
9. bring a dog to Furholmen between April 1 and July 15
10. remove or damage eggs or nests
11. hunt or bring hunting equipment to Furuholmen between April 1 and July 15
