Description
Welcome to the Bonavik nature reserve! The trail follows the shore through lush, jungle-like forests, where beavers have clearly made their mark. After a few hundred metres, you'll find a picnic area with a fire pit and a small beach where you can dip your toes.
As you continue further, the path narrows. Keep your eyes peeled for rare witches cauldron fungi. As the path leaves the shoreline, you will enter a pine forest growing between high ridges of gravel and the terrain becomes increasingly hilly. This is a part of the Uppsala ridge, which was formed during the Ice Age and is one of the largest gravel ridges in Sweden.
The Ekerö-Munsöleden trail, which connects several nature reserves, goes along the water through the reserve.
Please note: From 1 June to 31 August, the access road to the nature reserve and parking lot may be closed with a gate on weekends.
