Utvälinges Badplats

Utvälinge is the municipality's northernmost bathing place at the mouth of the Vege River in Skälderviken. The bathing area is located on its own small island, Sandön, and is part of a nature reserve. Sandön is home to a rich bird life that you must take into account. You reach the small bathing area by an exciting walk on a bridge about 300 meters long. The jetty is in place during the bathing season from after midsummer until 30 September. Until the jetty is in place in early summer, you should not be on the island at all, as it is a place where many bird species nest. All nesting birds on the island build their nests directly on the ground, making them particularly vulnerable to disturbance.

You are welcome to swim, look for birds and perhaps even seals on the northern part of the island, during the time the jetty is in place. On the western part of Sandön, with surrounding water areas, however, there is a year-round access ban. Dogs are not allowed on the island from May 1 to September 30.
