Description
Like church bells far away in the distance, the sound of the bell frog can be heard in Möllehässle nature reserve, or Mölle fälad as it is also known. Here, at the foot of the mountain just south of Mölle, are the five ponds that were already protected as a nature reserve in 1951. At that time, they were the very last place for bell frogs in Sweden. But the bell frog disappeared in the 1960s, and so they were no longer in Sweden. In 1982, the bell frog was reintroduced from Denmark and today they can be found in several places. The special sound, similar to the ringing of church bells, can be heard even during the day. Sit down in the grass and listen from a distance, so you don't disturb the frogs' mating game down by the water.
