Kanalhuset fågeltorn

Kanalhuset used to be the place where the people of Kristianstad took their drinking water from the River Helge å. Today, Kanalhuset is one of Vattenriket's outdoor museums and the house itself serves as a bird tower. From here, Linnérundan and Kanalhusspången provide close contact with water, reeds and willows.

**Watch the birds

In winter, kingfishers are regularly seen scouting for fish from a dry reed. When the ice settles over the river's water, the eddies outside the canal house often create an open wake. It's a good fishing spot for the big skimmers, who dive for lionfish. During the summer, you can look out over the Carrion Hawk's domains from the roof terrace.
