Description

The King of Norway, Olav Tryggvarsson, was on his way home to Norway after the Battle of Svolder. Outside Ven, he was surprised by the King of Sweden, Olof Skötkonung and his fleet of 70 ships. It was a violent battle that went further and further north. Olov fought for his life and in the end he was the only survivor on his ship Ormen Långe. He didn't want to give his enemies the chance to take his life, so he jumped into the sea.

This could have been the end of the story, but an Icelandic historian tells of Tryggvarsson swimming ashore on a rocky coast he describes as Kullaberg. A Danish historian picked up on this story in 1220 when he tells of the legend of Kullamannen, a wise and powerful sage with supernatural powers who settled on the tip of Kullaberg and to whom people from all over Denmark traveled to be divined.

On the eastern side of Åkersberget, you can see a rock jutting out that has been named after Kullamannen. What is the place called?
