4REST has been designed to amplify and allow visitors to get close to the nature.It is a changing wind shelter where the experience is controlled by you as a visitor in harmony with nature. Through the placement and the form, we want to emphasize how the environment changes depending on the season and weather, and how the visitors experience changes accordingly. Depending on the amount of water in the ditch, the placement and the partially hollow floor creates varying experiences when using the shelter. Further, our idea was to emphasize the view of the sky, by creating two leaning walls with a split in the middle we allow the visitors to sleep in the open air, on a clear night the shelter allows for stargazing. One of the tilted walls is divided into two parts, when tilting the upper part using the leverage on the outside of the shelter the wall closes and extends into a roof, by doing this 4REST becomes rain proof.The name? 4REST is a place for rest in the forest.
