The History That Vanished on St Olav Rombo Way

When the St Olav Rombo Way was upgraded in 2024, the route between Ramundberget and the Norwegian border was realigned. The original trail, which ran diagonally towards Skarvdörrspasset, was replaced by a new route via Fältjägarstugan and linked with the Jämt-Norgevägen trail. The aim was to reduce the impact on reindeer herding, but the result was that a section of a thousand-year-old trail was effectively erased.
