Description
The Kulan stand was protected by the county administrative board as early as 1934 to preserve an area of old rough pine forest. There are 93 large pines growing in the reserve. The tallest is 28 meters and the largest is 81 cm in diameter. The pines began to grow around 1730, 275 years ago, when Frederick I was king. Standing next to some of the reserve's largest pines, which have now lived perhaps a third of their maximum age, gives a strange feeling and some distance to our own short time on earth.

Directions
Take the exit from RV 52 just before Odensbacken, towards Breven/Kilsmo. There is a sign from the road after 5 km. Parking is after 1.5 km, from where the reserve is reached after a few minutes walk.
