STF Kalix Hostel

Just outside of Kalix, the river meets the sea. On the way there is Näsbyn and STF Kalix Hostel. Kalix offers fantastic beaches and a beautiful archipelago with a number of islands to visit.

Here is the most northerly deep-water harbour in the Gulf of Bothnia and the unique Siknäs Fortress. There are winter activities such as dog sledding and northern lights safaris. Those who are interested can go on an icebreaker adventure. Come along and cruise across a still, white, frozen sea covered in endless solid ice as far as the eye can see.

You can stay here all year round, in newly renovated rooms. Cook food in the new guest kitchen and spend time with others who have experienced all the great things Kalix has to offer.
The hostel is situated next to the Kalix Folk High School and we offer an oasis of calm, two kilometres from central Kalix. Choose between single rooms, double rooms and family rooms for up to four people, all with en-suite shower and bathroom. The rooms are equipped with a desk and fast WiFi that is suitable for both working online and streaming film.

There are disabled access rooms and rooms where pets are allowed. Bed linen and a towel is always included when you stay with us.
You can socialise with other guests, eat your meals and relax in front of a lovely fire in the spacious communal areas. Warm up in the wood-fired sauna. Those who are brave can roll around outside in the snow in winter. When it feels like the light is too far away, you can book our light therapy room.

The restaurant offers breakfast most weekdays and also dinner some evening. Lunch can normally be bought on weekdays when the nearby college is open. If you are part of a larger group, you are welcome to contact the hostel to put together a package that suits your needs. Time for a conference? Rent the entire facility and conference rooms depending on your needs.

As of summer 2018 you can rent bikes from the hostel. Kalix Golf Club’s lovely golf course is nearby and those who are interested in fishing will find many great opportunities in Kalix and the surrounding areas. There is a grocery store across the street from the hostel.
