Description
The nature reserve Smulterskäret lies just east of Småskär in the outer Luleå archipelago. Here you find old-growth spruce forest and abundant birdlife along the shores. There is an old fishing settlement on the southeastern point. There is no natural harbour.
The reserve is 3.2 square kilometres in size. To protect the birdlife, access is forbidden to the sound between Smulterskäret and Mjoön in the period between 1 May and 31 July. Jet skis are forbidden in the whole reserve, and snowmobiles may not be driven on the islands.
