Description

The view towards the free horizon and the islands in the archipelago attracts many visitors to Sandängesstranden, a municipal nature reserve adjacent to the bathing resort Pite havsbad. The open sound more with soft shifting sand dunes invites hiking and walking. The area is 2.7 square kilometres in size and managed by Piteå Municipality. There is a 100 metres long trail from the parking spot to a picnic area with a fire place and some information about the area.

There is a small car park, with two places reserved for cars with special permit for wheelchair accessibility.

Sandängesstranden lies about 10 kilometres southeast of Piteå. Turn off to the right towards Gläntan from Haraholmsvägen and you will reach the parking and information.

All regulations can be found in the reserve decision. It is permitted to: - fish in accordance with applicable laws - pick berries and edible mushrooms - make a fire in the designated place - drive snowmobiles on well snow-covered ground

Among other things, it is not permitted to: - drive a jet ski - ride or drive a motor vehicle off the existing road - damage plant and animal life - have the dog loose or let it bathe May 15 - September 15
