Description
Muddus is one of Sweden's largest and most unspoiled nature areas. Here you can experience silence for real. Since Muddus is a national park and part of the Laponia World Heritage Site, the only engine noises you can expect are the barely audible passing of airplanes at just over 10,000 meters altitude. But there can often be several days between these occasions, which is why the place is certainly one of Europe's quietest, and perhaps the quietest place you can reach during a day trip.
If you want to unwind longer than that, you can spend the night in one of the cabins available at a reasonable hiking distance throughout the southern part of the park.
