This Nature Reserve is divided into several parts along the river Mossabäcken. Here you find spruce forest, streams and mires. During springtime, many migratory birds come here when the mires are flooded by water from Mossabäcken.
The area is 1.1 square kilometres.

North of the village Råneå, near the village Södra Prästholm, turn in to Pålträskvägen (marked "Ubbyn 12"). After five kilometres you reach parts of Mossabäcken. Some parts are not near the road and some are.
Directions
The Mossabäcken nature reserve is less than 20 kilometers from Råneå if you drive the nearest road south of the Råneå River to Södra Prästholm. At Södra Prästholm, turn left onto Pålträskvägen, signposted "Ubbyn 12". After just over 5 kilometers you reach some parts of Mossabäcken nature reserve but also the Sörilandhuvudet reserve. Some parts of Mossabäcken can be reached directly from the road while other parts are in roadless country.
Regulations
All regulations can be found in the reserve decision. It is allowed to:
- camping
- hiking
- pick berries and edible mushrooms
- make a fire, remember to bring your own firewood
- drive snowmobiles on well-snow-covered ground
- fish and hunt in accordance with the laws in force.
