Långsjön-Gåbrek old-growth mountain forest is a bouldersstrewn mountain area. In hilly terrain, vast spruce forests grow. The summits are covered by brush moors and birch. The area is 73 square kilometres in size.

The reserve lies about 35 kilometres north-northwest of Arjeplog. From road 95 east of Arjeplog turn northwards (towards Galtispuoda).
