Description

In the northern part of Piteå archipelago, in the outermost islands, lies Kallfjärden Nature Reserve, which is Norrbotten’s first marine nature reserve. Here you find 18 islands and several small skerries and rocks, with beautiful and valuable nature both above and below the water surface. The whole area is 160 square kilometres in size. Snowmobiles may only be driven on a snowmobile trail and the closest route from the shore to the owner’s cottage. There are several bird protection areas between 1 May and 31 July, see the map and reserve regulations on the County Administrative Board website for more information.
