Description
Haparanda Sandskär Nature Reserve lies in Malifjärden and borders on Haparanda Archipelago National Park. The reserve comprises two islands, Letto and Ylikari. The whole area is 10 square kilometres in size and there is a ban on snowmobiling on the islands. Outside the built-up area you are only allowed to light a fire and pitch a tent at designated places. Hunting is prohibited in the reserve. Between 1 May and 31 July, it is forbidden to disembarks on Ylikari, because of the nesting birds.
