The Path of Health - exercise for everyone.

The first Slí na Sláinte was established in Ireland in 1995 by the Irish Heart Foundation. Slí na Sláinte means "the path to health" and aims to promote exercise for all, at all ages and to prevent cardiovascular disease. Today, paths are situated in more than ten countries in Europe and North America.

Around Swedens municipalites there are about 160 Hälsans Stig, paths that are easily accessible and marked. The trails are easy to get around, design to run in a loop, usually between 3 and 7 kilometers long. Hälsans Stig makes it easier for everyone to reach a public health goal of at least 30 minutes physcial activity in a day.

In Sweden the Swedish Heart Lung Association owns the concept of Hälsans Stig, and the municipality manages its local Hälsans Stig.

Hälsans Stig in Kiruna C is planed to follow by paved pedestrian and cycle paths. Pay attention as a pedestrian or cyclist for mixed traffic. Walk on the left side and cycle on the right side of the pavement/path.
