Description
Haaravaara mountain is characterised by sparse, park like pine forests on moorland. In the north, Haaravaara borders on Pessinki old-growth mountain forest and the mighty rock canyon of Marjakursu. In the easternmost part, there is a very old spruce forest harbouring rare species such as the bracket fungi amylocystis lapponica, fomitopsis rosea and the crust fungus laurila sulcata. The area is 3.4 square kilometres in size.
