The white wooden church is located in central Gällivare and is a parish church belonging to the Church of Sweden and the Diocese of Luleå. The church was designed by architect Emil Viktor Langlet and was inaugurated in 1882. It was rebuilt in 1966-1967 according to drawings by architect Bengt Romare, when the eastern and western transepts were extended. In addition to regular church activities, concerts are also held in the church.
