Description
The church is Gällivare's oldest church and was inaugurated in 1756. It is a timber building with a shingle roof located next to the Vassara River. It is also called Ettöreskyrkan. The name comes from the fact that it was financed by each household in Sweden contributing one penny in extra tax. The church is still used for baptisms, weddings and devotions during three summer months each year.
