Description

There are undisturbed forests here rich in species and easy to hike, as well as a good number of birds to spot. Soft sandy beaches extend around the island of Stenskär. There are also a sauna and other amenities, which are managed by Piteå Municipality. The entire nature reserve covers 92 square kilometres, of which 4 are dry land. It is forbidden to use a jet ski or a snowmobile, and it is permitted to light a fire only at designated places. On the islands of Lillhörun and Storhörun, it is forbidden to go ashore between 1 May - 31 July and one may not be within 200 metres of the islands.
