Höglandsleden Tomtabacken - Vikskvarn - Hjälmseryd

Exploring nature in Nässjö is like venturing into the
Scottish Highlands. Tomtabacken, the highest point in the South Swedish
Highlands and Götaland at 376.5 meters above sea level, offers a spectacular
view. Climb the observation tower and enjoy the expansive view of the
magnificent Småland nature.

From Tomtabacken, you can hike westward towards
Lövhult, passing Falla Mosse, a raised bog known for its pristine nature. Bird
watchers often visit to observe species like the redshank and black grouse. If
you turn towards Sävsjö, the trail goes through Mattarp's beech forest, the
highest self-planted beech forest in Sweden with a 400-year history where the
changes of the seasons are visible in the foliage.
